What attracted you to Real Estate Finance?
I was initially attracted to real estate as the assets are very tangible, and that coupled with my love of numbers meant that real estate finance felt like a perfect fit. I enjoy running a mixed caseload and being a trusted adviser to clients. No two deals are the same and I enjoy working collaboratively with the other side to achieve the end goal for our clients.
I also like to be a property geek and point out the buildings I’ve helped finance to my kids.
What is the biggest growth area in Real Estate Finance/ what does the future of Real Estate Finance look like to you?
It has been a tough time for the market what with high interest rates and political uncertainly both domestically and overseas. Many lenders are “ready to do business” but there is still caution among borrowers about loan terms and costs. However, London remains a safe and attractive investment and there is growth in areas such as data centres which are very in vogue at the moment.
If you could change one thing about the law, or within Real Estate Finance Law what would it be?
The regulatory burden is ever growing which means that the DD checklist is ever growing!
What is your proudest professional moment?
Joining the fabulous team at Brecher!
Why did you choose to join Brecher?
Brecher has an amazing reputation, enviable client base and a top class team. The team is dynamic, forward thinking and known for punching above its weight.
What is your favourite restaurant in London
Six by Nico on Charlotte Street – I love their fun concept tasting menus (and has absolutely nothing to do with the fact that my son is called Nico!)
If you weren’t a lawyer what would you be?
When I was younger I wanted to be a cowboy!
A Netflix series you would recommend?
Yellowstone – see answer above – although I think the reality of being a cowboy would be a bit too rough and real for me!
